As I encounter places to
avoid, or as some of you advise me of same, I will post these
locations for all of our benefit. If there is some problem you would
like me to post, please so advise. (Please provide specifics, which
I can verify -- dates, who said what, etc.) HOWEVER, I don't
want to nit pick little things. I don't want to bad mouth some place
unless the problem is a serious one. This is not the place to list
restaurants who won't provide the driver with a comp. www.motorcoachdrivers.com
is the place for this. Check it out. They not only provide the forum
for this, but will act to deal with the problem and eliminate it. My
purpose in this page is to advise places or businesses who deceive,
cheat or in some other way constitute a reason for us to avoid the
place altogether. This page is my personal list of BEWARE
PLACES!

1. South
Yarmouth Getty, 1308 State Highway 28, So, Yarmouth, MA 02664,
508-398-0780. Rte. 6, Exit 8, Station Rd, south to Rte 28, and about
1/10 mile west. Between light and Four Seasons Motor Inn.Owned by
man who identified himself as "Jay," and refused to provide his last
name. As part of the information supplied by the hotel on checkin,
was information that this service station provided"full service" for
MotorCoaches -- charging $35.00 for lav dump.On June 26, 2002, I
went to the station and dumped the lav. After dumping, I anticipated
chemical to add and was told by the attendant that "he did not have
any, had never heard of such a thing and did not have what I asked
for." I responded that I would not pay for the dumping. He called
his boss, the owner, who told him to call the police because I was
not going to pay. I spoke with the boss and also told him that
without the chemical I was in worse shape than if I had not dumped
at all. Now there was nothing to deal with the odor. He was
insistent that because I dumped, I had to pay. I reminded him of the
advertising of "full service" and that he is not providing it. He
said the chemicals are locked up and the attendant did not know what
they were and did not have a key to get any. He offered to come in
early the next day and provide the chemicals. I said this was
acceptable and that I would be happy to pay his $35.00 at that time.
Next morning, the attendants had chemical and we completed our
transaction. There may not always be time for us to return
"tomorrow" to complete a transaction like this!
I couldn't help wondering how many drivers have been screwed the
way he tried to do me. Have you? Please advise. Also, please note,
this is NOT the Mobil station in Hyannis, which station has been
providing service to us for several years. (I do not know if this
Mobile station is still in business -- I did not look for it on this
trip and have not used it for several years.)
